The 5 basic rules of health and fitness.

A lot of people these days are looking for quick fix transformations, when really you just need to keep to some basic rules in order to live a healthy and good lifestyle.

 It is too easy to jump on board with all the crazy fads that seem to be circulating on the internet these days that people forget the foundational principles to health and fitness in their lives.

 So in this article we are going to touch base on just some essential basics that we think you should keep on your own personal journey to a healthy lifestyle.

 

Do something active every single day.

This is not a hard task to complete, getting up from your desk every hour or so for a 5 minute stretch is good for your circulatory system and actually it has been proven that taking breaks whilst working hard keeps you more focused. People only need 30 minutes a day of fast paced walking, a hike, some light jogging to lower the risk of heart disease, depression and many types of cancer.

 

Engagement in life.

 People who find meaning in their life, a sense of purpose are known to outlive people who don’t. Having a reason to get out of bed in the morning and strive towards goals that amazing effects on your body and mind. A positive attitude and feeling engaged to your impact in your own life makes you more determined and driven.

Overeat.

Being able to keep the balance between calories in and calories burnt during the day is critical in leading a healthily lifestyle. With the increase of overweight people in the world this has become a key factor that a lot of people speak about in the fitness industry. A lot of people also use eating as a way to make themselves happy for the endorphins that they release, by mixing in the exercise spoken about earlier, you will feel a lot different and possibly not feel the need to eat as much as you will already feel fulfilled from exercising.

Drinking to excess.

Excessing drinking is a factor that causes a number of chronic diseases, like throat cancer, cardiovascular disease and more. Also drinking too much impairs sleep and daily function, I’m sure people are aware of hangovers in which you can waste and entire day just recovering from the night before. We are not suggesting to fully cut out drinking but just being more aware of drinking responsibly. 

Smoking.

 This is common knowledge, there is nothing more damaging to health, wellness and fitness than smoking. It is a contributor to a variety of illnesses and diseases. In recent studies it has been shown that nearly 1 in 5 people will die of smoking. A more positive note is that your body starts healing from smoking within days of quitting.
